Robert Horry was born on August 25, 1970 in Andalusia, Alabama. After winning the Alabama High School Player of the Year award in basketball at Andalusia High School, Horry attended the University of Alabama. He had a solid career at Alabama, averaging over 15 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game as a senior during the 1991-92 season.
Horry was drafted by the Houston Rockets with the 11th overall pick of the 1992 NBA Draft. He averaged 10.1 points per game as a rookie and was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. However, Horry has never been known throughout his career for his offensive numbers. Over his 15 seasons in the NBA with the Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and San Antonio Spurs, Horry has been recognized for his tough play, veteran leadership, and clutch performances. With seven NBA championships to his credit, Horry is also known as a competitive and proven winner.
