The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is the largest collegiate athletic organization in the world. Men’s basketball is divided into three divisions – I, II and III. Larger schools are typically Division I with smaller schools being Division II or III.
Division I is known most for its March Madness competition. This is a single elimination tournament consisting of 65 teams in the United States. Over the course of 3 weeks teams are eliminated until just four remain, coining the term the Final Four.
